The young plan, 1929
- Owen D. Young - and American banker
- Recommended that German reparations should be reduced by 3/4
- Annual payments to be made on a scaled model
- Germany hated it and created ideal conditions for Hitler'a rising
Although the Young plan would, theoretically, be a huge advantage for Germany, Germans still resented the very reparations to begin with. Hitler was able to use this general frustration in his favour and Germany would eventually stop paying reparations all together (at least for a few years).
How would the German population have reacted differently to Hitler and politics in the 30s if they didn't have the burden of reparations?
