- Many German Jews tried to flee, but the anti-semitism of other countries (including Canada) kept them from fleeing.
- Holocaust: Hitler's original idea outlined in Mein Kampf.
- Aryans thought to be superior.
- Jews made out to be universal scapegoats.
- Originally Jews were sent to work camps to do manual labour.
- July 1941 final solution = extermination of the Jewish race a priority.
- Carried out by a special group of the SS, called the Einsatzgruppen.
