Summary
After WWII Korea was divided along the 38th parallel. North and South Korea were at war, and USSR supported North Korea while US and other western states supported the South. China sent 1 million troops in to support the North. the turning point was the Inchon landings which were amphibious landing that pushed the North back to the 38th parallel. The UN supported the South as well.
