- This was considered the "Republican attitude"
- There were 3 Republican presidents after Wilson: Hardin, Coolidge and Hoover
- The Kellog-Briand pact was signed in 1928 - war was not to be used to resolve problems
The Republican attitude was considered an overall positive as Americans attempted to remain excluded from international affairs as many viewed Europe in particular as a volatile region while the US was "peace-loving". However, many actions would prove the US to not be entirely isolated during this period.
